Technology in the Cockpit - Introduction; This session is the first in a series

The session will take place at CASARA, and will use the Full Crew Sim (FCS). From an electronic Nav/Com perspective, there is virtually no difference between the Sim and an actual Aircraft, except the fuel bill! (pardon the ‘virtual’ pun). We will explore, in a pragmatic way, the following: Hardware: ipad, InReach, Simulated LL16 and/or Lil “L-Per, Intercom, Radio, Traditional NavAids. Software: ipad platform, Earthmate, Sim SARLOG, Sim Aviation GPS, VOR, ADF Like an accomplished musician and his instrument becoming one, the goal is to move toward a familiarity with the hardware/software through hands on practice (real time) including cockpit communication, transfer of data to crew, CRM, etc. I guarantee two things; it will be frustrating at times, and it will be rewarding at others.….and it will be fun! All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
