Air and Ground Homing Exercise

This exercise will start with a review of the use of the LL-16 ELT homer.  Following this, aircraft will home on an ELT signal without a visual target to determine its approximate location. This will be relayed to a ground vehicle which will proceed to the approximate location and use ground homing techniques to find the transmitter. Aircraft and crews,  ground search crews, ground support teams, and base personnel are needed.

Flying and ground crew coordination exercise. We will have the aircraft direct ground crews to the target once found. Will need 3 planes, pilots, navs, spotters, targets and base ops. Coordinator TBD

A number of searches will be conducted using the zone flight simulator, with full crews (pilot, navigator, spotters, base personnel).  An excellent training opportunity!  Practice your skills without dealing with the winter weather.  Coordinator:  Colin Bennett.
